Life After Grief
Helping Children & Families Navigate Life after Loss
Life After Grief provides peer-based support for children and teens navigating significant loss, including the death of a parent or loved one, while also supporting the families who love and care for them.
Our name reflects the belief that while grief never truly disappears, children and teens can learn to move forward with support, connection, and understanding.
We recognize that grief can take many forms. While our primary focus remains supporting children and teens after a death, we also understand that young people may experience grief connected to other significant life losses and changes.
Our programs are designed to offer support in ways that honor each child’s unique experience and needs.
Why Peer Support Matters
Grief can feel isolating, especially for children and teens navigating the death of a parent or loved one who may not know anyone else experiencing a similar loss. Peer support creates a safe space where young people can connect with others who truly understand their feelings.
Through shared experiences, conversation, and supportive activities, children learn they are not alone in their grief. Research shows that peer connection can help young people build resilience, express emotions in healthy ways, and begin to move forward while still honoring the loved ones they have lost.
Support for Every Stage of Grief
Our peer support groups help children and teens connect with others their age who understand the experience of losing someone they love.
Healing Hearts, Building Hope Together
Life After Grief provides a safe and compassionate space for children and families navigating the journey of loss. Through peer-based support programs, we connect families with others who understand, transforming grief into shared strength and healing.
We believe no child should grieve alone. Our programs create supportive environments where children and teens can express their feelings, build resilience, and begin to move forward with hope.
Grief often comes in waves, sometimes gentle, sometimes overwhelming, but no child should have to face those waves alone. Together, we help children and families find connection, understanding, and the light that still exists beyond loss.
We also recognize that children may experience grief from other significant life losses, and our approach is rooted in meeting each child where they are.
